Easy to Use : KidCo Y Spindle (2 Pack)
I purchased this product on the whim and hope that it would work on a Dreambaby gate since many of the components are similiar. Eureka! It did! However, here are some things to be mindful of when purchasing this product:
1. Using the Y Spindle product applies pressure to your railings so make sure they are properly secured before applying.
2. If you are using a gate where there are railings on both sides, you will need to purchase 2 packets, not one.
3. Although your gate might be rated to withstand a pressure of # amount of pounds (200 lbs, etc.), I am unsure if that statement would still be correct when using the Y Spindle product. If you think of it, the Y Spindle works by applying pressure to railings to stand firm. If your railings are not sturdy, your gate will be not be as well. Therefore, I would be precautionary when leaning up against the gate with your weight. There are too many breaking points to consider.
4. Always make sure your gate is locked when using them for your stairs! You may find that your gate did not provide a firm "click" or "lock" in place (so to speak). Just double check to make sure that it is indeed locked.
